Fall Professional Development Conference

Don’t miss our biggest event of the year!! Join Child Care Solutions on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 for our annual fall professional development conference, The Path to Success in Early Childhood Education. This fall’s conference was designed to help put you and your program on the path to success. We’ve put together different “conference tracks” focused on specific areas of early childhood education. Each track will feature workshops that address topics relevant to each area and will not only give you the opportunity earn 6 OCFS training hours but to share ideas, troubleshoot and network with peers who work in similar environments. Lunch will be provided. Financial assistance is available, see below!

If one of the three conference tracks doesn’t meet your specific needs, don’t worry. The conference tracks are only suggestions – each session also has workshops covering general topics that all child care professionals can benefit from. We welcome you to “create your own track” and sign up for any workshop offered in a given session. ¡Talleres enseñados en español estarán disponibles en cada sesión!

Infant & Toddler Track: Discover practical strategies for dealing with some of the most common challenges of working with infants and toddlers – biting, toilet training, and safe sleep practices.

Preschool & School Age: Track: Enhance the quality of your program with workshops exploring active games to play with school-age children, ways to introduce STEM into the curriculum, and proactive classroom management.

Program Director Track: These workshops were designed specifically for the program director. We’ll take a look at the importance of handling infants correctly, understanding confidentiality, and ergonomics in the ECE classroom.

Financial Assistance

There are two ways to get financial assistance to attend our conference:

CSEA/VOICE Professional Development Program: Funding is now available through the CSEA/VOICE Professional Development Program for all NYS enrolled Legally Exempt, Registered Family or Licensed Group Family child care providers outside of New York City. You can register for any training, free of charge, including conferences! To use this funding, you need to first register for the Professional Development Program through CSEA/VOICE. Beginning on October 1st, 2018, all providers who have used this program in the past will have to renew their registration with CSEA/VOICE. Instructions on how to sign up can be found here.

The process is the same for both first time registration and renewals. If you need help registering, please call CSEA/VOICE directly at (855) 472-6848. Once you are registered with CSEA/VOICE, call Child Care Solutions at (315) 446-1220 to sign up for the conference (and any other training you’re interested in) over the phone.

Educational Incentive Program (EIP): Scholarship funding to participate in training may be available through EIP.
